My Name is an Irony

Because it doesn’t end at all

faity tales

When we were little, we’re introduced to all sorts of fairy tales and we grew up cherishing the hope that our own love story will lead us to the same “happy-ever after”…. then we find our hearts broken… then we ask ourselves what’s wrong…

…then we’ll learn that the stories we grew up with were/are UNREAL… that the road towards true love is not really that beautiful.

Now, as we look around us, we see there are so many kinds of love that are contrary to little girls’ idea of a fairy tale.
Love taken for granted…
Trust betrayed…
Hearts broken…
Cheated.
Pain.

Real.
It is not what we thought it would be.
It is not about how it ends.
It’s living with what you feel.
It’s no longer about the blissful stories of Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty…
It is your love story. Our love stories.

heartbreakFoolish.
Unwritten.
Imperfect.
Painful
Real.

We know now it’s hard work…
We know now we need to give a lot of ourselves to get it.
We know now most of the time we don’t get the same love we give.
We know now that even after a break up, you just can’t forget the person, your true love.

For some, it doesn’t happen once.
For some, it doesn’t last long enough.
For some, it’s a painful cycle of giving up, giving in, fighting for, and letting go….

Now we know.

True love doesn’t always end in happy endings…

….because it doesn’t end at all.
